Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. How do I book a tour with Ema and Marlin Boat Tours?
You can book your tour directly on our website at boatopatija.taxi using the Bookeo booking form found at the end of each tour page. Alternatively, you can reach us via our contact form, by phone at +385 91 566 5285, or email us at booking.boatopatija.taxi@gmail.com. These options are ideal for private tours or special inquiries.
2. What are the payment terms for tours?
A 40% reservation deposit is required at the time of booking, and the remaining balance is due on the day of the tour, to be paid in cash (as we do not have POS machines on board). The deposit can be paid via PayPal, credit card, or bank transfer.
3. Can I change the date or type of tour after booking?
If you need to change your booking, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request, but please note that changes are subject to availability.
4. Can I cancel my booking? What is your refund policy?
Yes, you can cancel your booking, and the following refund policy applies: you will receive a full refund for cancellations made up to 7 days before the tour. Cancellations made between 7 and 4 days prior to the tour will incur a 50% cancellation fee of the reservation payment. Unfortunately, cancellations within 72 hours of the tour are non-refundable.
If the tour is cancelled on our part due to weather conditions or other uncontrollable circumstances, you will receive a full refund.
5. What happens if the weather is bad?
In case of unfavourable weather conditions or if the minimum number of guests is not met, we will first attempt to reschedule your reservation to another date that works for you. If rescheduling is not possible, the captain reserves the right to cancel the tour. In this case, you will receive a full refund.
However, if the weather conditions are not severe but do require a change to the planned route (for example, if certain areas are too rough), the captain may adjust the itinerary to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. In this case, the tour will still take place, but with an alternate route.
6. When will we know if the route changes?
We make every effort to inform our guests as early as possible if there are any changes to the planned route. Since we rely on weather forecasts, adjustments can sometimes be necessary. In some cases, the captain may even notice during the tour that certain areas are experiencing higher waves and wind than others and may choose a more sheltered bay to ensure a smoother and safer experience. We always prioritize your safety and comfort, and we’ll communicate any changes as soon as they are confirmed.
7. What should I bring on the tour?
We recommend bringing sunscreen, a hat, comfortable clothing, swimsuits, towels, snorkeling equipment, and a camera to capture the beautiful sights. You are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks to enjoy during the tour.
8. Are food and drinks available on the boat? Can I bring my own food or drinks?
Food and drink availability depends on the tour you choose. Some tours include snacks and drinks, while others might not. Check the specific tour details on our website, or contact us for more information. We also encourage guests to bring their own food and beverages to enjoy during the trip.
9. Do you provide equipment or amenities?
Snorkeling equipment is available for rent on our boats. We can provide amenities like towels and floating devices, but we have a limited number available on board, so please let us know in advance if you would like some to ensure we have enough. Life jackets are available for all guests.
For any additional requests or special arrangements, feel free to contact us, and we’ll be happy to assist!
10. Are the tours suitable for families and children?
Absolutely! Our tours are designed to be enjoyed by all ages, from families with children to groups of friends. We provide safety equipment, such as life jackets, for all passengers, and our crew ensures a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone.
11. Can I bring my dog on the boat? Are you pet-friendly?
We absolutely love having dogs on board and are happy to welcome your furry friend! If you’re planning to bring your dog, we do have a pet fee of 50% of the full ticket price. However, to ensure everyone’s comfort (and that no one has allergies), we kindly ask that you contact us before booking. Our booking agent will check with the other guests on the same tour to make sure they’re comfortable with having a dog on board. If any concerns arise, we will do our best to find another date that works, where the other guests are happy to have your dog join the tour.
If you’d prefer a stress-free experience for both you and your dog, we highly recommend considering a private tour. With a private tour, you’re free to bring your dog along with no issues—just let us know in advance, and we’ll ensure everything is ready for your pup’s comfort! Plus, it’s a fantastic way to create a more personalized and relaxed experience for both you and your dog.
We’re here to make your tour as enjoyable as possible, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or special requests!
12. Can I celebrate a special occasion, like a birthday, anniversary, or bachelor/bachelorette party on the boat?
Absolutely! We’d love to help you celebrate your special occasion. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, bachelor or bachelorette party, or even a team-building event, we can tailor the tour to your needs. Just let us know in advance, and we’ll make sure your celebration is unforgettable!
13. Does the boat dock at beaches, or do we need to swim from the boat?
For some tours, the boat will dock at selected beaches, allowing you to easily access the shore. On other tours, the boat will stay in the middle of the bay, and guests can enjoy swimming directly from the boat. Every tour where guests are required to swim from the boat is clearly noted on the respective tour page, so you’ll always know in advance.
14. Can we visit Krk Island instead of Cres?
While our standard tours focus on Cres Island, we are happy to discuss alternative destinations. If you’d like to visit Krk Island instead, please contact us ahead of time to confirm the possibility and adjust the itinerary.
15. Can I start the tour from a location that’s not listed on the site?
If you would like to start your tour from a location that’s not listed on our website, we are happy to try to accommodate your request. Please contact us beforehand to discuss the details and arrange the best possible solution.
16. Where can I park?
Parking availability depends on the departure location, but for the most convenient parking option, we highly recommend the Lovran departure point, as it offers free parking throughout the entire town. If you need further assistance or have specific questions about parking or anything else, feel free to contact us, and we’ll help you find the best option!
17. When should we arrive at the tour? What to do if I am running late?
We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time to settle in comfortably. If you’re running late, please contact us as soon as possible. Since the boat may be picking up guests from other locations, we need to be mindful of everyone’s time. If we know you’re running late, the captain will be happy to wait for you. However, if we haven’t received any notice that you will be running late, we won’t be able to wait longer than 10 minutes from the departure time, as we need to make sure the tour runs smoothly for all our guests and prioritize their experience.
